Institutional Roles

Conflict of Interest (COI) Committee. The COI Committee is a multidisciplinary faculty peer committee responsible for the review of any potential conflicts of interest and (where required) recommendations for the elements of a Management Plan.

Designated Institutional Official (DIO).  The DIO is responsible for soliciting and reviewing Certifications from Investigators and developing Management Plans that specify the actions that have been and shall be taken to manage the FCOI or SO.

Investigator. The Investigator is responsible for reporting of external interests as defined in this Policy, compliance with any Management Plans, and submission of any Publications that require disclosure of an interest per a Management Plan.

Vice-President for Research (VPR). The VPR appoints the DIO and serves as the final arbiter in the appeals process.
