Brian has been teaching HCB 524 - Special Topics in Bioethics: Organ Donation and Transplantation since Spring 2019.  He has a background in Biology and Bioethics and received both his undergraduate and graduate degrees from Stony Brook University.  Brian has been working with LiveOnNY, New York’s regional Organ Procurement Organization (OPO), since 2015 and has been serving as the Assistant Director of Hospital Services since November 2018.  Brian has also been intimately involved in Stony Brook University Hospital’s organ and tissue donation program for the past 5 years and has helped develop many of the policies and procedures that are in place today. In 2019 Brian received a certificate of achievement in excellence for his successful completion of the Art and Science of Leadership: Driving Results for Donation and Transplantation Professionals from the Aresty Institute of Executive Education at the Wharton School of Business Management.  He has also presented at several national conferences for organ donation professional, most recently at the 2019 NATCO conference where he was awarded the top case study for the examination of neonatal and pediatric organ donation.  Brian continues to drive performance improvement efforts related to organ and tissue donation in over 100 hospitals across the New York metro area and utilizes his expertise in the field to implement strategic efforts at each hospital to save more lives through donation and transplantation.
