Assistant/Associate Professor

Required Qualifications

MD or MD/Ph.D.  Board Certified in Internal Medicine and Board Certified/Eligible in Cardiovascular diseases.  Experience in clinical care and teaching (inpatient and outpatient).

Preferred Qualifications

One year independent practice in Cardiovascular disease.  Basic or clinical research experience.

Responsibilities & Requirements

Stony Brook University Medical Center is a >500 bed tertiary care medical state-of-the-art facility, located on the north shore of Long Island, providing cardiovascular care to 1.4 million residents of Long Island. Long Island provides a variety of living environments ranging from a cosmopolitan style with big city amenities to suburban/small town feel with top notch school systems and quality of life. The Assistant/Associate Professor will be responsible for patient care (inpatient and outpatient), as well as teaching medical students, residents and fellows.

Special Notes

Tenure/Non-Tenure Track. FLSA Exempt position, not eligible for the overtime provisions of the FLSA. Internal and external search to occur simultaneously. Anticipated Start Date: As soon as possible. Eligibility for tenure will be based upon applicants' qualifications and experience.  To qualify for tenure and/or a senior faculty appointment, the candidate must meet the criteria established by the School of Medicine (School of Medicine's Criteria for Appointment, Promotion and Tenure).
