My research is concerned with tracking the legacies of Wilsonian rhetoric through the twentieth century, investigating the tensions/relations between British and American imperialisms and the construction of "self-determination", alongside the growth of revolutionary and anti-colonial nationalist movements that sprung out of WW1-era political rhetoric. I am currently focusing on Black American liberation movements and the Irish Republican Army, researching the importance of culture in their effort to build radical communities and gain revolutionary solidarity.
