NSF National Quantum Virtual Laboratory (NQVL) Quantum Science and Technology Demonstrations (QSTD):1. Pilot Phase

 

OVPR is actively accepting applications for this internal competition. If you are interested in applying to this program, you must submit a pre-application through the internal competitions submission portal. Pre-application requirements are listed in the announcement below.

OVPR invites applications for the NSF National Quantum Virtual Laboratory (NQVL) Quantum Science and Technology Demonstrations (QSTD):I. Pilot PhaseThe NQVL aims to develop and utilize use-inspired and application-oriented quantum technologies. Stony Brook University can submit ONE pilot phase application to this program as lead organization. 

Please see below for details. If you are interested in applying, you must submit the internal competitions form by Friday,  March 1, 2024. Pre-applications for internal review and selection must be uploaded to the portal as a single PDF document. The competition code for this program is LC202416.

WHAT DOES IT FUND: This solicitation supports only the Pilot phase of the Quantum Science and Technology Demonstration (QSTD) component, which is focused on the development of a conceptual design of a QSTD project. 

APPLICANT REQUIREMENTS:  An individual may serve as PI or co-PI on no more than one Pilot proposal.

AWARD: Up to $1,000,000 for 12 months.

SPONSOR DEADLINE: LOI (required) due April 9, 2024;  The full proposal is due  June 11, 2024

A complete pre-application should comprise of the following:

    • Synopsis (3-pages max). A brief statement of the vision and goals of the proposed QSTD project, its potential for QSTD impact, and an integrated plan for the QSTD project.
    • List of Participating Organizations and Senior Personnel. You can identify up to 4 co-PIs.
    • Lead PI's CV with Bibliography of publications.
