Subject: Early Voting Dates for Midterm Elections

To: All Students

Dear Seawolves,

The New York State Midterm Elections will be taking place on Tuesday, November 8 and we want to make sure you are able to safely and successfully cast your ballot this election season!

New Yorkers have three options when it comes to voting – early voting, voting by absentee ballot, and voting in-person on Election Day.

The early voting period in New York State will begin on Saturday, October 29, and will end on Sunday, November 6. Voters may visit ANY early voting location in the county where they are registered to vote between these two dates.

Early voting locations and hours of operation will vary across counties. You can find the early voting locations in your county here, as well as the hours of operation.

If you are unsure of your current voter registration status and are looking to participate in the midterm elections, you can check your voter registration status here.

To help students participate in early voting, the Center for Civic Justice will be celebrating National Vote Early Day this Friday, October 28 from 11am-1pm, outside of the Commuter Lounge at the Melville Library on West Campus.

For those who do not have a reliable method of transportation, we are able to offer a complimentary Uber voucher to help you make your way to the polls at a time that is convenient for you. These vouchers can only be used to travel to the early voting location that is closest to campus, during the early voting period indicated above. The vouchers will be available at the National Vote Early Event Day, but if you are unable to attend and are interested in obtaining one to vote early, please email civicjustice@stonybrook.edu

The Center for Civic Justice is here to support your voting needs. For additional information, questions, or concerns, reach out to civicjustice@stonybrook.edu or stop by our office located in the Stony Brook Union, Suite L-20.

All the best,
