To: Students with Approved Exemptions and Partially Vaccinated Students

Dear Seawolves,

To safeguard the health and safety of our campus, unvaccinated students with approved exemptions and partially vaccinated students – those who have not received their two doses of Pfizer or Moderna vaccines – are required to participate in our COVID testing surveillance program once a week.

The first day of the Fall 2022 testing schedule is Thursday, August 25, and testing on this day is optional. Required testing will begin the week of August 29. There is no testing from August 15 to August 24.

You can either choose to test on campus for a PCR test or use an external provider. If you use an external provider, please make sure you upload your test results to the Wolfie Health Portal by the end of each week.

You will use your health insurance when testing on campus. Please note that you may be responsible for any additional costs associated with this testing that are not covered by your insurance. At-home COVID tests will not be accepted since the identity of the individual who took the test cannot be verified.

If you are a Stony Brook Southampton student, please contact Marisa Jeffers at marisa.jeffers@stonybrook.edu if you are required to test weekly.

Students who do not participate in required testing will be referred to the Office of Student Conduct and Community Standards.

IF YOU’VE RECENTLY TESTED POSITIVE FOR COVID:

If you have tested positive for COVID in the last 30 days, DO NOT get tested. Upload your COVID positive test result indicating the date of your positive COVID test to the Wolfie Health Portal. This will also exempt you from participating in the on-campus surveillance testing for a 30-day period from the date of your positive COVID test.

TESTING LOCATION AND HOURS OF OPERATION:

Student Activities Center (SAC) Room 169: Monday, Wednesday and Thursday from  9am-4pm. Appointments are required.

HOW TO REGISTER AND MAKE AN APPOINTMENT:

  • If you have never been tested at SAC 169, you must register using this link (https://bit.ly/SBUFallTesting2022) and provide your insurance information.

  • When registering, make sure you enter your student ID correctly for your test to be accurately recorded. Enter the information that matches your legal name that is on the back of your Stony Brook University ID card.

  • To make an appointment, visit https://bit.ly/SBUAppointmentTesting. Walk-ins will not be permitted.

  • Make sure you select an appointment that works with your schedule. Remember you will need to make an appointment to get tested every week. Choose the appointment that best fits your schedule.

  • Bring your Stony Brook ID card and your insurance card with you to your appointment.

If something has changed in your exemption, and you are fully vaccinated for COVID and do not require weekly testing, please upload your vaccination to the Wolfie Health Portal
