Subject: Upcoming New York State Primary Election: August 23rd, 2022

Dear Seawolves,

The second of two New York State Primary Elections is taking place on Tuesday, August 23rd and we want to make sure you are able to safely and successfully cast your ballot! Here is some important information to know for the upcoming election:

Voter Registration Deadline:

The deadline to register to vote for the August 23rd primary is Friday, July 29th. In order to participate in a primary election in New York State, you must be enrolled in a political party that is holding a primary election. 

How to Vote:

New Yorkers have three options when it comes to voting – early voting, voting by absentee ballot, and voting in person on Election Day. 

Early Voting: 

Voters may visit ANY early voting location in the county where they are registered to vote between Saturday, August 13th and Sunday, August 21st. You can find the early voting sites in your county here, as well as the hours of operation. 

Absentee Voting:

Voters who will be absent from the county where they are registered on Election Day, voters who are unable to appear in person due to temporary illness or disability (including precautions related to COVID-19), and voters who are the primary caregiver of an individual with a disability, are able to vote via absentee ballot. You can find all information related to requesting an absentee ballot and how to vote by mailhere. The deadline to submit a request for an absentee ballot isMonday, August 8th. 

Voting in Person:

Polling locations in New York will be open from 6:00 AM to 9:00 PM on Tuesday, August 23rd. You can find your polling location here.If you are registered to vote on campus and plan to vote in person, you can vote at our on campus polling location in the Student Activities Center.
