Subject: Showcase Your Expertise and Talents at the First-Ever Winterfest 

 

Dear Students, Faculty, and Staff,

As we gear up for Winter Session, we are very excited to announce the first-ever Winterfest, a new campus wide initiative, which will offer a wide variety of opportunities for you to learn something new and/or showcase your talents, creativity and expertise! 

Winterfest will take place from Monday, January 8 to Friday, January 12, 2024 and is a new initiative by the Division of Student Affairs in partnership with HealthierU.

Share Your Knowledge: Submit a Program Proposal

Do you have a hobby, interest or expertise that you would like to share with the campus community? Submit a workshop proposal! Whether you are an undergraduate student, graduate student, faculty or staff, you can showcase your talents and teach something new to another Seawolf!

To submit a program proposal, please fill out this Winterfest Proposal Form by Friday, November 10, 2023 or copy and paste this url into your browser: https://stonybrookuniversity.co1.qualtrics.com/jfe/form/SV_aaz7bFSQrvCXNd4 

Please include as much information as possible, including materials and budget (if any) needed as well as your availability. We will contact you by Monday, November 27, 2023 to let you know if your proposal was selected and provide information about next steps.  

Here are some topic ideas for your proposals: 

  • Career and professional development 

  • Community service initiatives

  • Health and wellness

  • Recreational and fitness activities

  • Craft activities

  • Life skills 

  • Creative arts performances and exhibitions

  • Technology and innovation workshops

  • Cultural and diversity events

  • Cooking workshops 

  • 101 (introduction to your topic) 

  • And many more! 

We are looking forward to receiving your proposals and working together to make Winterfest a memorable and enriching experience for our entire community. Your contributions play a significant role in shaping the diverse and vibrant programming we offer.
