Bio:
David Antar is a true entrepreneur at heart, with over 30 years in the security industry. Over that time, he has started a number of successful high-tech companies based on a keen ability to understand the needs of his customers and the trends in the marketplace that drive business growth.
David began his career at Eagle Transfer, a commercial moving-and-storage company in Lower Manhattan, where he quickly rose through management. Under his leadership, the company grew to the largest of its kind in New York City, doubling in size for 13 consecutive years and ultimately operating out of nine buildings totaling over 750,000 square feet. David was responsible for every aspect of the business, but it was specifically his involvement in developing a division for the packing and shipping of extremely valuable fine arts and collectibles that introduced him to the challenges of security. He became acutely aware of the growing role that technology could play in delivering on the need for physical security, and this revelation served as the inspiration for the founding of his own company in 1988, A+ Technology & Security Solutions.
Today, A+ is a leading regional system integrator, with unparalleled expertise in Security, IT Infrastructure, Audio Video and LED Lighting technologies. It is one of the largest providers of IP Video Surveillance into K-12 and higher education facilities throughout the New York Metropolitan area. Headquarters are an 18,000 square foot facility in Bay Shore, New York, and a 7,000 square foot Bridgeport, Connecticut office is scheduled to open in January, 2106, to handle the company’s growing business throughout New England. A+ has provided extensive support to the City of Bridgeport, installing a city-wide surveillance network that is now monitored by Law Enforcement from a state-of-the-art Command Center. A+ was honored for this project in 2014, winning the Security Innovation Award /Municipal Sector at the National Secured Cities conference.
David has founded three additional technology companies that operate from the Bay Shore Headquarters. IPVideo Corporation is a security solutions manufacturer and software developer that sells exclusively through a worldwide dealer network. (IPVideo solutions are employed throughout the Bridgeport project.) A+ STEM Labs is an innovator in STEM teaching solutions and has over 500 mobile science labs in the New York City school system. True Security Design is a security consulting firm that provides unbiased analysis and assessment of its clients’ physical security vulnerabilities. In 2012, all business units were combined under the umbrella of a single holding company, Advance Convergence Group (ACG), to create a more efficient centralize management team and to better share resources.
