WE WELCOME STUDENTS FROM CHINA

Stony Brook University provides a welcoming learning environment for more than 2,300 students from China.

C.N. Yang, professor emeritus of the C.N. Yang Institute for Theoretical Physics, was Stony Brook’s first Nobel Prize recipient.

STUDY AT STONY BROOK

A wide network of resources help our international students feel right at home from the very start.

As a new student, you'll be supported by the International Student Ambassadors, be able join our International Student Organization (ISO), and make new friends at iCafé, our bi-weekly academic and student services workshop.

We recently opened a new China Center on-campus, and host a Confucius Institute which organizes Chinese cultural programs all year long. Students can also join our Chinese Students and Scholars Association, Chinese Christian Fellowship, and Chinese Association at Stony Brook.

Our academic advisors are supportive. They might do everything from helping you devise your first-semester schedule to recommending student resources, such as the writing center and tutoring centers.

Our Office of Global Affairs provides visa and immigration support, and hosts a global forum series on topics such as intercultural communication.
