New Technology Disclosure Agreement Overview

Pursuant to the Patent and Inventions Policy of the State University of New York and the Computer Software Policy, faculty members, employees, students and others using university facilities, are obligated to disclose inventions to the  Office of Technology Licensing and Industry Relations (OTLIR) in the form of a New Technology Disclosure (NTD)The purposes of an NTD is to describe the invention and the circumstances under which the invention was made.  It allows the OTLIR to evaluate the patentability of an invention.  It is also a legally important document, which should be read carefully before completing.  

**Please note that the Patent and Inventions Policy of the State University of New York has changed effective November 23, 2016.  The new policy can be found on the following website:

All disclosures made following November 23, 2016 must be made using the new version of the disclosure form linked above.
