NEW -  Important Information for Investigators with International Collaborations

Office of Proposal Development offers any of the following services to research faculty:

  • OPD organizes workshops and presentations on identifying funding sources, grant writing, NSF CAREER Awards, and more. Our annual grant writing workshop will guide you through the entire proposal development process, including developing a winning idea, setting realistic timelines, and preparing specific pieces of the application. We also offer a workshop specific to the NSF CAREER Award, which typically includes an overview of the competition as well as a panel of NSF CAREER awardees. For more information on either of our standard workshops, please contact our office at OPD_OVPR@stonybrook.edu. To make suggestions for a new workshop, please click here

  • OPD offers walk in hours each week to assist with education plans, mentoring plans, disseminations plans, NSF broader impact statements, budgets, resource sharing plans, and data management plans

  • OPD has recently subscribed to a comprehensive funding database, PIVOT, by Proquest for faculty members to search by numerous types of search criteria. For more information or assistance with building your profile or searches, please contact Maureen Piekos at OVPR_Pivot@stonybrook.edu. • OPD offers editing and critiquing of proposals to improve quality prior to submission to external sponsors as well as assistance with compiling administrative proposal components

  • OPD is currently creating a SharePoint site that will include sample documents such as mentoring plans, facilities, NSF broader impact statements, as well as samples of prior successful proposals and current literature on education.
