The Technology Commercialization Assistant will support the Intellectual Property Partners (IPP) staff with a broad range of professional administrative duties related to technology commercialization projects and initiatives.

In its boldest and most successful implementation, SBU Econ Dev and CIEES will be true partners with companies in bringing a broad portfolio of science-driven innovation to market and public benefit in the form of new products and services. The Center Director (CD), as the leader of CIEES, is responsible for all aspects of this NYSTAR funded CAT program. The focus is on building and managing a portfolio of collaborations of joint faculty - industry partnerships and commercially-relevant research and development projects in energy and related fields. Success will be measured by the implementation of the CAT program’s strategic plan, the scale and quality of industry partnerships and projects, and increased funding through successful proposals to federal, state, industry, and other sources. The Long Island High Technology Incubator (LIHTI) is a regional startup incubator and accelerator. The Executive Director (ED) leads the organization. The position reports to the Board of Directors (BOD). The organization is an independent 501(c)(3) not-for-profit legal entity and has a strong affiliation with Stony Brook University (SBU). Since opening in 1992, LIHTI has been associated with many biotechnology and other technology-based businesses. Most have graduated successfully from the LIHTI program, creating jobs for hundreds employees.
LIHTI is embarking on an ambitious revision of its current operation beyond its current focus on incubation and it's a very exciting time to join and lead the organization. The new ED will shape strategy with the BOD and then lead implementation and operation. Areas being considered for expansion include startup acceleration, entrepreneurship, venture studio and in-licensing, and venture capital.
