Alpha Iota Mu Honor Society

Alpha Iota Mu is an honor society dedicated to recognizing and celebrating the academic achievements of students who enter Stony Brook University through the Educational Opportunity Program. Founded to acknowledge the hard work, perseverance, and excellence of students in EOP, Alpha Iota Mu fosters a community of scholars committed to academic success, leadership, and service.

Membership

Membership in Alpha Iota Mu at Stony Brook University is available to eligible EOP students  who have achieved a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher for at least two consecutive full-time semesters. Membership serves as a testament to students’ resilience and dedication to academic success, while also encouraging students to pursue opportunities for networking, leadership development, and community engagement.
