Research Facilities: Department of Geosciences

The Department of Geosciences has a state-of-the-art mass spectrometry lab that welcomes IDPAS students. Equipment includes a IsotopX Phoenix X62 multi-collector thermal ionization mass spectrometer and a Nu Instruments multi-collector ICP-MS with laser capabilities.

Additional resources include three research quality petrographic microscopes (two equipped with cathodo-luminescence setups), several dissecting microscopes, a computer-driven dental drill with microscope for micro-drilling phases, and a digital camera system that can take photos from a copy stand to the highest magnification with the petrographic microscope.
