Requirements for Resident Students

All resident students (including transfer students) in their first or second semester are required to be on the Wolfie Deluxe meal plan.

Transfer students who are in their sophomore academic year or above may select any of the Returning Resident plans.

Any student living in a residence hall that is not a “cooking building” is required to select one of the resident meal plans listed above. This requirement has been in place for many years, and it was established to avoid health and safety issues in the residence halls. If no plan is selected by the start of the semester, the student will be automatically placed on the Wolfie Standard Plan.

Resident students may sign up for a meal plan through room selection.

Commuter, Apartment, Residents in Cooking Rooms and Graduate Students

Meal plans are optional for students living in cooking rooms or on-campus apartments, graduate students and commuters.

Benefits of the Meal Plan:

  • Save money with every purchase: All meal plans, including the budget (prepaid) plan are sales-tax free!
  • Grab a quick bite from over 30 different retail concepts, including Dunkin’, Starbucks and Subway!
  • Dining Dollars can be used at the SBU Eats food trucks, Chatime, Halal Wayz, Anona, Mr. Kim’s Hibachi and Carvel.
  • Convenient mobile ordering!
  • Take-out available when you are on the go!
