ReportIt: Ending Sexual Misconduct

ReportIt: Ending Sexual Misconduct is an online sexual misconduct prevention and awareness program. ReportIt provides employees and students with important information on rights, responsibilities and procedures in cases of sexual misconduct under Stony Brook policy and various federal and state laws. |
ReportIt: Required Annually for All Employees
Under New York State law employers are required to provide sexual harassment awareness and prevention training to all employees annually. The Office of Equity and Access (OEA) has developed ReportIt: Ending Sexual Misconduct for Faculty and Staff to meet this requirement. Supervisors can play an important role in ensuring Stony Brook University meets this obligation.
Initial communications to employees were sent on September 2, 2021 via email. Employees have been asked to complete ReportIt by September 27, 2021. Once an employee has completed the program, they will receive an email confirming their participation and they will have the opportunity to print a certificate.
OEA would appreciate assistance from Supervisors in ensuring that thier direct reports complete the program. In the late fall, OEA will forward supervisors a list of direct reports that have not completed the program and request that supervisors follow up with non-compliant staff.

Alternate Programming
If you have direct reports that that do not utilize email or have access to a computer as part of their working environment, please contact oea_training@stonybrook.edu and we can make other arrangements to ensure these employees receive training before the end of this year.

We encourage all supervisors to post this information where all employees can access it.
