ReportIt: Ending Sexual Misconduct


The Office of Institutional Diversity and Equity is proud to announce ReportIt: Ending Sexual Misconduct for student, faculty, and staff. The training was created to support Stony Brook University, Stony Brook Medicine, and the LISVH in our efforts of education and prevention of sexual misconduct. Cultural Competency Seminar 

This required seminar is the first in a series of Cultural Competency Seminars for all of our employees – faculty, staff and hospital employees. The seminar will strengthen and enhance campus climate to ensure that all members of our community have the ability to thrive and achieve their individual goals. It will provide tools and practical advice for student and colleague interactions and will reinforce Stony Brook's commitment to the prevention and elimination of all forms of discrimination, harassment, and sexual misconduct.

October Calendars

October brings many events and observations for the Stony Brook University Community. Please review the following for more details on what events and programs are being offered this month.

The Calendar to Promote Diversity and Inclusion at Stony Brook University will promote inclusive communities by raising awareness around a diverse set of identities and issues while striving to maintain a socially just environment for students, staff, and faculty. The Calendar will focus on programming efforts and community participation and engagement to ensure that every group is being heard, validated, represented, and supported.

Each month is devoted to recognizing and honoring the culture, traditions, contributions, and struggles of identity groups that have historically experienced oppression.

The Diversity Calendar theme for October 2018 is Hispanic Heritage & LGBTQA*.

Hispanic Heritage Month Celebrates 29 years at Stony Brook.

The 2018 Hispanic Heritage Month Planning Committee would like to invite you to celebrate the 29th Annual Opening Ceremony for Hispanic Heritage Month. This year our theme is "...and Justice for All/...y justicia para todos."
