LEARNING OBJECTIVES

1. Upon completion of the degree, students should be able to formulate and pose a significant research question and frame it as a publishable scholarly research project.

2. Upon completion of the degree, students should be able to conduct independent research for an original scholarly project.

3. Upon completion of the degree, students should be able to assess and evaluate scholarly work.

4. Upon completion of the degree, students should be able to demonstrate knowledge of existing and emergent interdisciplinary scholarship about peoples of African descent throughout the globe.

5. Upon completion of the degree, students should be able to critically reflect upon issues of social justice in African diasporic communities as well as in the larger society.
