Biochemistry and Cell Biology M.S.

LEARNING OBJECTIVES

1. Upon completion of the degree, students should have a comprehensive understanding of the fundamental principles of biochemistry and cell biology and the ability to apply this knowledge to various biological systems and processes.

2. Upon completion of the degree, students should be able to independently design and execute experiments in their chosen sub-area of biology. Students should be able to maintain an accurate lab notebook, be able to identify and read primary literature relevant to their research, and to critically interpret data. Students should be able to communicate their results, orally and through written formats.

3. Upon completion of the degree, students will be prepared to embark on next step of their career trajectory, including research in the private or academic sector, pursuing advanced degrees (i.e. Ph.D.., MD or in other advanced med science), or engaging in other life science-relevant careers.
