French Language and Literature B.A.

LEARNING OBJECTIVES

1. Upon completion of the degree, students should be able to read representative texts of French literature through various genres (poetry, novel, theater) with their historical and esthetical relevance from pre-modern to modern eras, their stylistic evolution and language registers in written and critical articulations.

2. Upon completion of the degree, students should be able to converse with their associates in the target language, on a variety of topics in connection with regular news streams and authentic aural sources of information, within and without the classroom.

3. Upon completion of the degree, students should be able to meet a range of works and writing needs by demonstrating the ability to describe with details and good control of aspects, to write straightforward commentaries on topics of general interest or documents (printed, aural, visual). The writing competence exhibits a good control of the target-language syntactic structures, a variety of cohesive devices in written assignments and essays.
