Human Origins Advanced Certificate

LEARNING OBJECTIVES

1. Students should be able to understand the methods scientists use to explore human paleoscience phenomena including observation, hypothesis development, measurement and data collection, experimentation, and evaluation of evidence, especially during field expeditions.

2. Students should be able to understand the natural world and the major principles and concepts that form the basis of knowledge in human paleosciences.

3. Students should be able to assess scientific information and understand the application of scientific data, concepts, and models in human paleosciences.

4. Students should be able to demonstrate adequate ability to perform specific foundational tasks during human paleoscience fieldwork, including survey, excavation, and geological mapping.

5. Students should be able to research a topic, develop a written and oral argument and organize supporting details.
