Program Costs and Scholarship

FLY students pay tuition and fees to Stony Brook University just like all other Stony Brook students.  In addition to standard tuition and fees, students will pay a program fee each semester that varies based on their FLY location. Students are responsible for expenses associated with international travel and living abroad, including airfare, housing, meals, books and personal expenses.

The program fee and a breakdown of SBU and anticipated costs associated with the FLY program can be viewed on the individual FLY Location pages.

Stony Brook University tuition and fees, as well as the FLY program fee will be billed through the student's SOLAR account.  For additional details on SBU's billing policy, please visit the Student Financial Services website.

Cost Comparison

FLY participants enjoy lower housing and fees at their international location compared to the costs of living on campus at Stony Brook University. The FLY program offers a more affordable option, allowing students to save money while embarking on a unique global experience.
