    About the Program

    Universidad Autónoma de Madrid hosts two summer programs available to students:

    Summer School of Economics and Business (June 30-July 25, 2025)

    Choose 1-2 courses taught in English, in a 4-week intensive format: 

    • Environmental Economics and Policy Analysis
    • International Finance
    • Global Marketing
    • Doing Business in Spain

    Tourism Summer School (July 14-25, 2025)

    This is a 2-week intensive course of 6 ECTS credits, taught in English, covering the following topics: Environmental policy and sustainable tourism; cutting-edge technology applied to tourism activities; human resource management; hospitality finance; exploring AI to better understand customer satisfaction; and culture, history, leisure, and attractions management in Madrid.

    This partner university brings together students from all over the World and a few local students in a truly international environment. The courses are complemented by social and cultural events, as well as academic field trips.

    Additional Information A Partner University program is a study abroad experience where students are nominated/accepted by Stony Brook University, and enroll at a partner institution. In most cases SBU faculty or staff are NOT traveling with participants.
    Program Housing Statement: Stony Brook University is required to comply with the housing policies of the host country, partner institution and/or hotel/hostel. These policies may include requirements such as sex-based housing placement.

    Students must be matriculated in an undergraduate degree program.

    Candidates may be interviewed to determine their qualifications for participating and representing Stony Brook University abroad.
  • Academic Information

    Course Information

    Earn 3-6 academic credits. Please note, the cost sheet reflects the cost for 3 credits 

    For the Summer School of Economics and Business (SSEB), students must choose the business or economics track. Students can also choose one course from each track, but must confirm the courses don't conflict. 

    For the Tourism Summer School, students will take one course. 

    Information regarding course offerings are linked above for each respective program.

    All participants following the Stony Brook Curriculum (SBC) will fulfill GLO and EXP+ in addition to requirement(s) fulfilled by their coursework.

    Academic Policies

    • This is a partner university program. Applications must be submitted to Stony Brook University first. Information regarding the next steps in the process will be distributed to students who have received formal nominations by their International Programs Coordinator.
    • Grades earned in a Partner University program WILL NOT calculate towards the cumulative GPA for SBU students.
    • Non-SBU students must contact their home university regarding their grade and credit transfer policy.
    • All participants following the Stony Brook Curriculum (SBC) will receive GLO and EXP+ in addition to requirements fulfilled by their coursework.
