Diversity Initiatives
Our Statement of Commitment to Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion
The Career Center has a deliberate goal of addressing the systemic career related disadvantages of our students and alumni who identify as underrepresented, underserved, BIPOC, veterans, LGBTQ*, and/or students with accessibility needs. As an office we provide guidance on how to address injustice in the workplace and have open dialog about how intersectional identities are affected in the workplace, through 1:1 sessions, group chats, and webinars/workshops.
We pride ourselves on providing on-going career support to students in making connections with industry through diversity related professional association events and conferences, delivering specific career preparation workshops for diversity related student groups, and working collaboratively with campus academic and student affairs departments on events explicitly focused on diverse populations.
The Career Center works diligently to assist employer partners in meeting their diversity recruiting needs. Through annual diversity recruiting events and specialized signature programs we are able to continuously connect our diverse qualified talent to employers based on their diversity and inclusion initiatives. Celebrating and showcasing the uniqueness of individuals, we empower our diverse students/alumni to understand their greatness and how to exhibit it in pursuit of their career of choice and the world at large.
