About the Program

Reichman University (formerly known as Interdisciplinary Center Herzliya) is a distinguished academic institution founded in 1994, dedicated to the pursuit of excellence in education, research, and the training of future leaders. Reichman University provides its students with educational programs that combine academic study with hands-on training and is committed to providing students with the necessary tools to become front-runners in their fields, in Israel and abroad.

The campus is located in the city of Herzliya, Israel, six miles north of Tel Aviv and a short distance from the Herzliya Pituach high-tech area and beaches. Reichman University's campus is an academic village home to state-of-the-art teaching facilities and is host to about 2000 students from over 90 countries.

Additional Information	A Partner University program is a study abroad experience where students are nominated/accepted by Stony Brook University, and enroll at a partner institution. In most cases SBU faculty or staff are NOT traveling with participants.

Program Housing Statement: Stony Brook University is required to comply with the housing policies of the host country, partner institution and/or hotel/hostel. These policies may include requirements such as sex-based housing placement.

Academic Information
Course Information

The academic year at Reichman University is divided into two semesters, each with 14 weeks of teaching. The Fall semester (equivalent to semester A abroad) begins immediately following the Jewish holiday of Sukkot (usually around mid-October) and runs through the end of January. The Spring semester (equivalent to semester B abroad) begins in the 1st week of March and lasts until mid-June. Each semester is followed by two exam periods (Moed 'A' and 'B') which run for approximately three weeks each.

Course Credits & Selection: Exchange students are invited to select courses from the various schools and faculties at Reichman University and are not restricted by subject. Acceptance into selected courses will be determined by the Student Administration for incoming students, in consultation with the relevant faculty members, if necessary. Each course is worth between 2-4 Israeli credits. Note: 4 Israeli credits = 6 ECTS = 3 SBU credits.

Academic Policies
- Students must maintain full-time status while abroad
- This is a partner university program. Applications must be submitted to Stony Brook University first. Information regarding the next steps in the process will be distributed to students who have received formal nominations by their International Programs Coordinator.
- Grades earned in a Partner University program WILL NOT calculate towards the cumulative GPA for SBU students.
- Non-SBU students must contact their home university regarding their grade and credit transfer policy.
- All participants following the Stony Brook Curriculum (SBC) will receive GLO and EXP+ in addition to requirements fulfilled by their coursework.
